DearlyTold

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 September 2026

DearlyTold is provided by Thorn & Fable Ltd, 2 Entick Farm Bungalow, Ings Lane, Dunswell, HU6 0AL, UK. We built it as a private place to keep the memories that matter to you.

What we keep

We keep the account details you provide, together with the written memories, photographs, audio and video that you choose to add. We also keep the details needed to provide any subscription or printed-book order you ask us to arrange.

Why we use it

We use your information to run your account, save and show your memories, provide the tools you request, prevent misuse, answer support requests and meet legal obligations. Our basis is usually providing the service you ask for; where you choose an optional AI feature, it is your request for that feature.

Private by default

Your memories are not public. Other DearlyTold users cannot see them. We do not sell your personal information or use your memories for advertising.

AI features

If you ask for a transcript, an AI follow-up question, people suggestions or chapter suggestions, the relevant memory text or recording is sent securely to OpenAI only to provide that feature. The original memory stays in your account. You can choose not to use these features.

Payments and printed books

Payments are handled by Stripe. When you choose to order a professionally printed book, we share only the information needed to print and deliver that order with Bookvault. We do not receive or store your full card details.

Keeping and deleting memories

Your memories stay in your account while it is open. You can remove individual memories and their attached media in the app. If you would like your whole account deleted, contact us and we will explain the secure deletion process and any limited records we must retain for legal or accounting reasons.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to access, correct, erase or receive a copy of your personal information, or ask us to restrict or object to certain processing. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
